ABLE developed Democracy Governance Strengthening Program (DGSp) to address the need to assist those elected and appointed into public offices to ensure responsibiltiy, functionality and productivity.

DGSp focuses on the following targets

• The general public
• The political parties & pressure groups
• Parliamentarians at all levels
• Other government functionaries

Our current diet for 2007-2011 is fashioned for Local, State and Federal Government in Nigeria; and is designed to use the following schemes to enhance good governance at the respective tiers:

• Capacity building workshops in the areas of role definition, parliamentary procedures, the process of law making.
• Building effective intergovernmental relationship between the Executive and Legislature .
• Governance by partnership: the government working with the people.
• Facilitation of Exchange visits to Developed Democracies by Government functionaries for the purpose of skills acquisition.
• E-governance; including but not limited to use of paperless proceedings at plenary or committe rooms, intra/internet, World Wide Web etc.
• Research and updating of libraries and other visual resource development.
• Establishment of Legislative, Democratic and Developmen Iinstitutes.
• Integrated Development Planning Scheme.
